TDS Return

All assessee who has deducted TDS has to file Quarterly TDS return with NSDL with the deductions during that quarter. TAN and PAN are pre-requisites for filing the TDS returns. There are four types of forms each for specific type of deductions. These returns are made in electronic medium & filed with facilitation centres.

Due dates for filing TDS Return (both online as well as physical) is as follows: –

TDS penalties

  1. Late filing of TDS return: INR 200 per day till the time the default continues but not exceeding the total amount of tax deducted. (as per Section 234E).
  2. Non filing of TDS return: If the TDS return is not filed within one year from the due date of filing the return, then a penalty not less than INR. 10,000/- and not more than INR. 100,000/-
